Is the pink dreadnought student Acoustic Guitar suitable for a 12 year old?
The one I found was only 25 1/2 inches but another site said I’ll need a standard or a full sized one. How long is that? Another said I need a guitar that is 36″.
You’ll need to go by scale.
25.5 inch scale is full sized. That means the guitar is 25 1/2 inches from the nut to the bridge.
Some dreadnoughts might be a little shorter at 24 3/4 inches. That would also be considered full-size.
I’d be careful about buying a “child-sized” guitar, simply because a 12 year old will grow out of it so fast, that you might as well buy a full-Size Guitar.
I got my first full-size guitar at age 11, and I still play it, at age 40.
